Cancer Ward

By Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (with Nicholas William Bethell, David Burg)

Finished reading on February 1, 2018

Though certainly too long (and thus robbed of the cutting clarity of One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich) and at times very uneven, this is still a book with cutting passages and memorable characters. The end of the book, in particular, highlights the amorality of the chaos of life.
